In the late 1950s, Charles Pollion built the first Marine Power engine for a La Fitte skiff, a classic shrimp boat well-known in Louisiana waters. Customer satisfaction and product reliability were top priority to Pollion, who worked closely with his customers to provide commercial-grade engines that would meet the industrys heavy demands and withstand the severe conditions of the gulf.

Pollions power plants quickly earned a reputation for superior performance and reliability and, one by one, Marine Power engines replaced longstanding name brands in the commercial market. The company was purchased in 1984 by a new group with the engineering and financial strength to take the company to a new level. They envisioned taking Marine Powers renowned performance and reliability to the growing recreational boating market.

In making the expansion, the new management retained the companys practice of listening closely to its boatbuilding customers while maintaining a commitment to exceptional customer service, product quality and reliability. Today Marine Power engines are ranked at the top of the recreational boating industry in terms of sport-specific performance, state-of-the-art technology and reliability.
